We will assist with orphaned & injured rhino calves and the highly trained & dedicated team to help stabilize the baby rhinos. During our time, we will assist with formula preparation and feedings and learn about rewilding and successful release back into natural ecosystems.
We learn about successful rewilding with reintroduction of healthy rhinos and the crashes. Education sessions inform and inspire discussion on the how best to protect this endangered animal.
Meet the multilayered protection strategy teams, including an extensive criminal intelligence network, electric fencing, guards & Mounted Guards, K9 units & handlers, and integration of AI enabled tracking & cameras.
Supporting the survival of the rhino, requires the whole community. We will spend time with the children in the community, supporting with homework clubs and sports games, while learning the important part the communities play in rhino protection.
The reserve area we are involved with is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the organization we work with is a registered member of IUCN and operates with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.
We arrive into OR Tambo airport - Johannesburg. A full day exploring Johannesbury & Soweto including the Constitution Court, the Apartheid Museum is included, along with some time to stock up on goodies before we head out. On our final day we will visit Pretoria, including the Union Buildings, Voortrekker Monument and other notable sites.
