The European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) fee will be EUR 20 instead of the previous EUR 7. This increase aims to cover the operational costs of ETIAS, taking into account all its functionalities and inflation rates, and align the EU fee to the ones of other countries that have similar travel authorisation programmes.
The ETIAS system will start operations at the end of 2026.

South Africa is set to launch a new Electronic Travel Authorization (eVisa) system by the end of September 2025.
This new system is expected to significantly improve the travel experience for visitors and support South Africa's tourism sector, which is vital for the economy.

Yellow Fever Certificate Removed
Great news! Ecuador’s Ministry of Public Health has removed the mandatory Yellow Fever vaccination certificate requirement for travelers arriving from Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, and Brazil.
The vaccine is now only a recommendation, making travel to Ecuador easier and more accessible.
Beginning May 12, 2025, travelers entering Ecuador who have spent more than 10 days in Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, or Brazil—even in transit—will be required to present the International Certificate of Vaccination against Yellow Fever.
This applies to all travelers, including Ecuadorian citizens returning from these countries. The vaccine must be administered at least 10 days before arrival and is valid for life. The certificate may be requested during boarding and again upon entry to Ecuador.
MetroCard sales will end after December 31, 2025.
MetroCard will continue to be accepted into 2026.

Tap-and-Go and you'll only pay for the subway and local bus rides you take up to a cap of $34 in a 7-day period, as long as you use the same device or contactless card.
From May 7, 2025 - if you are taking domestic flights in the USA, US residents will need a drivers license with a star, or your passport to board. Non-US residents and visitors will require passports for domestic flights.

Starting April 10, 2025, United States, Australian and Canadian passport holders require an eVisa for Brazil (unless you have a valid physical visa). Apply at https://brazil.vfsevisa.com/ well in advance of your travel date.
The UK Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) is a digital permission (Visa Waiver) required for foreign nationals traveling to the UK without a visa. It costs £16, allows multiple entries for up to six months at a time over two years, and applications can be made through the UK ETA app or the government website. eTA is a required electronic travel authorization for travelers visiting Canada for tourism, transit or business visits under six months. Current cost is $7 - Official website to apply : Canada.ca
Travelers who fail to obtain an eTA may not be permitted into Canada as well as may face fines imposed by the Canadian government. Travelers are advised to apply as soon as possible.
